CARE

Your Léo et Violette products evolve and develop a patina over time. We craft our products with utmost care to ensure their quality endures over time. Here are some tailored tips for each type of leather to help you keep your bag for as long as possible.

Liégé leather

Our liégé leather products are crafted using high-quality Italian leather. They are made from full-grain leather whose original surface has been transformed and enhanced with slight striations and a subtle shine. This type of leather is more resistant to everyday wear and requires minimal maintenance. To ensure you enjoy your bag for as long as possible, we recommend waterproofing it once a year (not necessary upon receipt) and moisturizing it with a colorless leather milk cream, available at your local cobbler. It's always advisable to have your products treated by leather professionals to avoid maintenance-related issues.

Smooth leather

Our smooth leather products are crafted using high-quality Italian leather. They are made from full-grain leather whose original surface has been carefully processed to maintain a very natural appearance and a soft touch. This type of leather requires careful maintenance to develop a beautiful patina over time. To ensure you enjoy your bag for as long as possible, we recommend waterproofing it once a year (not necessary upon receipt) and moisturizing it once every three months with a colorless leather milk cream, available at your local cobbler. We recommend avoiding continuous exposure to rain as much as possible. If it comes into contact with various liquids, allow it to air dry, avoiding direct exposure to artificial heat sources. It's always advisable to have your products treated by leather professionals to avoid maintenance-related issues.

Patent leather

Our calf leather products with a glazed effect (also known as mirror effect) are crafted using high-quality Spanish leather. This leather is coated with a finish that gives it its shine and glazed effect. A simple soft cloth slightly dampened will suffice to properly maintain your product. There is no need to use leather milk cream. In case of stains, use a soft, damp cloth and gently rub the affected area. It is not necessary to waterproof this type of leather as it is already treated. However, it is still not advisable to use your bag in the rain, as this can cause moisture marks. It's always recommended to have your products treated by leather professionals to avoid maintenance-related issues.

Embossed leather

Our embossed leather products are crafted using high-quality Spanish leather. They are made from full-grain leather whose original surface has been transformed by embossing with an animal pattern. This type of leather is more resistant to everyday wear and requires minimal maintenance. To ensure you enjoy your bag for as long as possible, we recommend waterproofing it once a year (not necessary upon receipt) and moisturizing it with a colorless leather milk cream, available at your local cobbler. It's always recommended to have your products treated by leather professionals to avoid maintenance-related issues.

Grain leather

Our grained leather products are crafted using high-quality French and Italian leather. They are made from full-grain leather whose original surface has been transformed by embossing with a grained pattern. This type of leather is more resistant to everyday wear and requires very little maintenance.
